Another hidden gem in Hurstville! I had noticed this restaurant before when passing by during lunchtime, but since there weren’t many customers, I assumed the business wasn’t doing too well. However, the day before yesterday, I walked past again and saw a long line of people waiting outside. That piqued my curiosity, so I decided to give it a try. While waiting in line, the restaurant seemed quite small, which I thought was the reason for the queue. But later, I found out they actually have a second floor, and it was completely packed that day. After tasting their food, I understood why so many people were there—it was really good! And they is free tea. And the best part? It wasn’t expensive either. Definitely worth the visit!

Have been dinning at this restaurant for 40 years. Today's lunch. Pipis in Black Beans Sauce - 7.5/10 Green Beans with Pork in XO Sauce - 8/10 Salt & Pepper Flounder - 8.5/10

Very casual dining place. Food was tasty and well made. I got takeaway and the food came out really fast. Was about 90 bucks for 2 meat dishes, one vegetable dish and special fried rice. Very good value. The special fried rice was loaded. Also the “san tou chicken” was very thoughtfully packed with the sauce separate from the chicken so it wouldn’t get soggy on the way home.

The food here is genuinely great—flavourful and served in generous portions, which is definitely the highlight. But the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff aren’t very welcoming—no smiles, serious expressions, and at times it felt like they were just throwing the menu in our direction. There’s a sense of impatience that makes the experience less enjoyable. The atmosphere doesn’t help either. The entrance isn’t inviting, and the upstairs dining area is quite bare, with little to no decor, which makes it feel a bit cold and unwelcoming. The food is what keeps this place going, and it’s truly worth trying. But with friendlier service and a more inviting space, the overall experience could be so much better
